레즈비언 웨딩케이크 제작 거부한 미국 기독교인 수년끝에 승소

약 4년전 미국 캘리포니아주 레즈비언 커플이 자신들을 위한 웨딩케이크 주문을 거부했다는 이유로 기독교인 제빵사를 고발한 사건이 있었습니다. 몇년에 걸친 투쟁에서 재판관은 기독교인 제빵사의 손을 들어주었네요. 

동성끼리 사랑할 권리가 있다면 그것을 거부할 권리도 있는 거겠죠. 서로의 권리는 반반씩 있는 거니까요.  적어도 종교적 신념을 '혐오'의 기제로 사용하지 않았으니 승소의 가능성이 더 높았던 것 같습니다.

Set religion aside, anyone has the right to refuse service to anyone at any time, the entire issue here is that it went to court in the first place

종교는 제쳐두고. 누구라도 언제든지 서비스를 거부할 권리가 있는거에요. 여기서 문제되는 건 처음부터 이걸가지고 소송으로 간거죠.

Respectfully, Is there no other baker around? If there is, then can they just go somewhere else? I don’t feel like it is fair to force someone to do a service for you when they don’t really want to. 

주변에 다른 빵집은 없었을까요? 있었다면 다른 데 그냥 갈 수 있지 않았나요? 하고싶어하지 않는데 누군가에게 서비스를 강요하는 것이 공평하지 않다고 생각해요.

Shawn Stingel yes. If you own your own business you can refuse service to anyone you choose. Don't even have to give a reason

The baker should be required to put a big sign in her window saying "I PROVIDE SERVICE ONLY FOR THOSE WHO DON'T OFFEND MY RELIGIOUS BELIEFS".

저 빵집주인은 가게 앞에다가 "내 종교믿음을 위반하는 않는 손님들에게만 서비스를 제공합니다"라는 표지판을 붙여놓아야겠네요.

If this bakery wants to refuse service that’s their choice. They will also have to live with the sea of one star and zero star reviews that bakery would in all likelihood receive.

이 빵집이 서비스를 거부하길 바란다면 그건 그들의 선택이에요. 그리고 그들은 또한 빵점 리뷰를 받을 가능성을 가지고 살아야하는 거고요.
