(방글라데시) IMF로부터 6조1천억원 지원받아 

방글라데시는 섬유산업을 선두로 2016년 이후 연평균 7~8%의 고성장을 이어오다 2019년 코로나 사태로 직격탄을 맞은 뒤 우크라이나 전쟁 및 자국 화폐인 타카화 평가절하 등으로 경제적 어려움이 깊어졌습니다. 

11월 9일 IMF는 방글라데시 정부와 45억달러(약 6조1천500억원)의 금융지원안에 대한 실무진급 합의를 이뤄냈다고 합니다. 

이는 국가부도에 몰린 스리랑카나 파키스탄과는 달리 최악상황을 피하고자 하는 선제조치성격으로 평가받습니다.

Small countries always remain vulnerable. So is Bangladesh. Sri Lanka was also a middle-income country with very good performance on social development indicators and yet see where it is now.

Countries are going bankrupt due to 4 major reasons:

1. Irresponsible policies of the govt.

2. Lack of Industry in home & heavy import

3. USA printing dollar day & night without any consequence on them and world has to bear the burnt.

Bangladesh is facing the 2nd partly due to heavy dependence on Textile and 3rd issue.

I don’t actually think Bangladesh will ever see situations like Sri Lanka. 1, India will likely help Bangladesh like it did to Sri Lanka and 2, the Bangladeshi government isn’t as corrupted as Sri Lankan so I’d hope the aid go in the right places.

방글라데시가 스리랑카와 같은 상황을 맞이할 것 같진 않다. 일단 인도가 스리랑카에 했던 것처럼 방글라데시를 도와줄 것이고 방글라데시 정부는 스리랑카 정부처럼 부패하진 않아서 맞는 장소에 재정도움이 올바르게 갈 것이라 믿는다.

Bangladesh didn't ask for a bailout. It asked for loan to keep up sustainable development. Every country has loan. Even USA too.
