입장을 거부당해 인종차별당했다며 SNS에 올려 파문이 일고 있습니다.

We people of colour love everything about them, their culture, art, music they are so much talented, but this is how they let their talents and reputation go to trash bins because they discriminated on the basis of colour and country, I used to be crazy about their pop culture and dramas and their beautiful country but right now I am so dissapointed knowing the ground reality of that country and the mindsets of the people

한국 문화, 예술, 음악 등 너무나 재능있는 한국에 대해 좋아했는데 이건 한국인의 재능과 명성을 먹칠하는 짓이다. 색깔과 국적으로 차별하다니. 케이팝 문화와 드라마, 그리고 아름다운 한국에 대해 정말 미쳐있었는데 

이제 실체와 국민성에 대해 실망했다.

Japan isn't same. People are welcoming. Korea is completely opposite of Japan. Don't confuse between two just because they are close and look similar.

일본은 똑같지 않다. 사람들은 늘 환영받아요. 한국은 완전 일본과 달라요. 

그 두 나라를 혼동하지 마세요. 가까이 있고 비슷해보인다고 해서.

I experienced it in SK and in Japan, but it was usually for places that foreigners wouldn’t/couldn’t go anyways. Like restaurants with no menus/pictures, just hanging kanji on the wall, sometimes those places won’t let you come in without speaking Japanese/a translator cause they can’t help you order. Other places like strip clubs, hostess bars, sex bars etc bar foreigners a lot for the same reason, if you can’t communicate with the girl you’re seeing it’s a risky situation.

I was never turned away from any place just for straight up racism I don’t think.

전 한국과 일본을 둘 다 경험해보았는데요 외국인들이 어쨌거나 가지 못하는 장소들에서 발생해요. 

그림판 메뉴가 없는 식당처럼요. 때때로 그런 장소들은 일본어를 하지 못해서 못들어가는 경우가 있어요. 

왜냐하면 그들이 당신이 주문하는 것을 도와줄 수 없거든요. 

스트립 클럽이나, 호스티스바, 섹스바 등과 같은 장소도 같은 이유로 못들어가게 하죠. 

여성과 대화할 수 없다면 위험한 상황이란 걸 보게 될 거에요.

When I lived in South Korea there were several nightclubs in Uijeongbu that straight up barred foreigners from entering due to racism. Those were the only establishments I came across like that.

내가 한국살때 의정부에 있는 몇몇 나이트클럽에 갔었는데 인종차별로 외국인들을 못들어가게 하는 경우가 있었어요. 그 장소들만이 내가 우연히 겪었던 차별받은 곳들이에요.

That's because you were in areas that barred service members from going to these places due to violence (alcohol) and human trafficiking.

아마도 그건 혹시나 군인들이 술때문에 폭행이나 인신매매 할까봐 못들어가게 했을거에요.

That's always a possibility, but there was definitely an element of racism there.

뭐 항상 그런 가능성은 있지만 그곳에서 분명히 인종차별이 있긴 했어요.

Probably only South Korea. I've been to Japan, China and Philippines and didn't encounter any racism there.I haven't been to South Korea however.

아마도 한국에서만 그럴거에요. 일본과 중국, 그리고 필리핀을 가보았는데 그곳에선 인종차별 겪은 적 없어요. 

아직 한국은 못가봤어요.

Same for some places in Seoul. No soldiers allowed, that's why I made friends with some expats who were there to teach English.

서울에 다른 장소도 마찬가지에요. 군인들 금지. 그래서 내가 영어 가르치는 다른 외국인들과 친구 만들었죠.

No, it happens in Japan as well. In both Japan and Korea, though, it mostly has to do with preventing rowdy foreign tourists and military people on American bases from acting up, which has been known to happen.

일본에서도 이런 인종차별적인 일이 일어나요. 

대부분 무례한 외국인 관광객들이나 군인들이 이상한 행동을 하지 못하게 미리 막는거죠.

I lived in SK for years, learned Korean, traveled the whole country top to bottom (including tons of stays in Jeju) and never once experienced anti foreign policy at a resturant - night club - hotel - anything.

난 한국에서 몇년 살았고 한국어도 배웠습니다. 

위에서부터 제주도포함하여 밑에까지 쭉 여행해봤죠. 그런데 한번도 반외국인 분위기를 경험해본 적이 없어요. 

식당이든 클럽, 호텔 어디에서든지요.

I did but only at mud festival and it was 1 venue. It existed then (2010!), not surprised it still does.

전 딱 한번 한국에서 머드축제때 경험했어요. 한곳이였죠. 그땐 2010년이였는데 

지금도 그렇다니 놀랍지도 않네요.

I spent a couple weeks in Seoul and every interaction I had was pleasant, some of them shockingly so (like when the old-timers at a hole in the wall restaurant bought us multiple rounds of soju and invited us to share their table).

I'd be very surprised to hear about this in major cities, but maybe it's more common elsewhere 

전 서울에서 몇주를 보냈는데 모든 경험이 즐거웠고 어떤 건 놀랍기도 했어요. 

(예를 들어 식당에서 나보다 나이가 많은 사람들이 소주를 사준다거나 밥도 같이 먹자고 초대받았죠) 

이런 거대한 도시에서 그런 일이 있었다니 깜짝놀랐어요. 하지만 다른 곳에서 종종 있는 일일수도 있겠죠.

I've been in nightclubs in Seoul that have huge signs in english that say NO US MILITARY AFTER 9PM

나도 서울 나이트클럽 간 적 있는데 아주 크게 영어로 적혀있었어요.

"밤 9시이후 미군 입장 금지"
