한국 지도를 놓고 미국 지도와 비교하면서 한반도 땅에 미국 지명을 적용시켜놓았네요. 

대한민국이 얼마나 작은지에 대해 느끼고 싶은 걸까요

심심해서 했다기엔 살짝 기분도 나쁘지만 사실이니까 자기들끼리 가볍게 자국이 얼마나 큰지에 

대해 비교를 통해 우월감을 느끼고 있네요;; 

누가 제일 먼저 발상했는 지 모르겠는데 자기들끼린 재밌나봅니다.

You're looking at length. In terms of actual area, Japan is only about 1.7x as big as the unified Korean peninsula, so not even twice as much.

길이를 보고 있군요. 실제 거리로 보면 일본은 한반도 전체의 약 1.7배 밖에 안되어요. 

두배가 안넘는다고요.

You want to realise something crazier? South Korea has pretty good high speed rail. So you can get from Seoul to Busan in under 2 hours.

완전 멋진 걸 보고싶나요? 남한은 굉장히 빠른 철도 레일을 가지고 있는 나라에요. 

그래서 서울에서 부산까지 2시간만에 가요.

I think we usually get little context for the size of countries because we really only see them as part of a world map. So, South Korea seems tiny, but it’s actually the size of eastern Virginia. Very interesting

제 생각엔 국가들의 크기에 대해 거의 잘 모르는 것 같아요. 

왜냐면 그런 나라들을 전체 세계 지도의 그냥 일부분으로만 보고있거든요. 

그래서 남한은 작아보이지만 실제로 동쪽 버지니아 크기에요. 아주 흥미로워요.

In cases, South Korea has a smaller territory than the population. The countries I have lived in for a long time are Spain and Korea, and Spain has five times larger territory than Korea, but the population is rather smaller than Korea.

한국은 인구대비 작은 영토를 가지고 있어요. 내가 좀 오래살아본 나라들이 바로 스페인과 한국인데요, 

스페인은 한국보다 약 5배가 큰데 인구는 한국보다 더 적어요.

Don't look at only relatively *small* contries then. Also South Korea is very densily populated, each corner has ´some life in it, while your country is like 70% completely empty.

상대적으로만 크기가 작은 나라들을 보지마요. 한국은 또한 인구밀집도가 매우 높아요. 

각 코너마다 라이프가 있어요. 

반면 미국의 약 70퍼센트는 비어 있잖아요.

For reference, comparing the population, the population of south korea is 52 million and Virginia has 8.6 million.

참고로 인구를 비교하자면 한국 인구는 약 5천2백만이지만 버지니아는 8백6십만 밖에 안되어요.

Korea's nickname= "Seoul Republic" cuz half of population and most of young people lives in Seoul and Seoul metropolitan area(including Incheon) and most of infrastructure, facility, malls, stores, most of everything are in Seoul.

서울 별명이 "서울공화국"이에요. 왜냐면 대부분의 젊은 인구가 서울에서 살거든요. 

서울은 인천포함해서 대도시이고 대부분의 인프라시설, 기관, 몰, 가게 모든 것이 서울에 있어요.

Yeah well Busan is pretty dope too and shouldn’t be overlooked. Also I’ve never ever heard anyone call it the Seoul Republic and I’ve lived there for a year.

부산도 꽤 큰 도시고 간과하면 안되는 곳이죠. 

난 결코 한번도 서울공화국이라고 하는 건 못들어봤네요. 

1년 살아봤는데 말이죠.

Korea and Uruguay are about the same size, however Korea is about 50 millions inhabitants (more than Argentina) and Uruguay is about 3,5 millions

한국과 우루과이가 거의 비슷한 크기에요. 

그런데 한국은 5천만 이상의 인구가 있고요 (아르헨티나보다 더 많죠)

우루과이는 3백5십만명 밖에 안되죠.
