(해외반응) 한국인이 만든 미드 비프, 폭발적 반응 

미드 좀비물 '워킹데드'에서 큰 인기몰이를 한 한국계 미국배우인 스티븐 연이 또 다시 히트작을 남기게 되었습니다. 넷플릭스 오리지널 시리즈로 제작된 블랙코디디물 'Beef(성난사람들)'에서 열연을 펼쳤는데요. 미드인데 한국인의 정서가 진하게 담겨있는 작품입니다. 지난 6일 공개되자마자 웰메이드 작품으로 인기급상승중인데요, 한국인 제작자가 집필하고 연출한 작품으로 주인공도 한국인이며 다수의 동양인 캐릭터가 등장합니다. 드라마 내용은 일이 잘 풀리지 않는 도급업자 대니(스티브 연)와 성공했지만 삶이 짜증으로 가득차 있는 사업가 에이미(앨리 웡)이 난폭운전 사건으로 만나게 되면서 겪게 되는 이야기를 그린 블랙코미디입니다. 

처음엔 'beef'가 왜 '성난사람들'로 번역되었을까 싶었는데 beef에 '불평, 불평을 하다'란 뜻이 있네요.

각각의 인물들의 깊은 연기로 점점 빠져드는 드라마입니다.

As someone who has suffered with chronic depression for most of my life, I have never been seen as much as by this series. Thankyou for making me feel less alone in the world.

평생 만성 우울증을 앓아온 사람으로서 이 드라마만큼 여러번 본 것도 없네요. 이 세상에서 나만 그런 게 아니라고 느끼게 해줘서 고마워요.

It was so hard to not binge this all in one go. The characters had parts of them that you could relate with, and then some parts that made you go, "Please don't do that, please have better judgement." But I think that makes them all the more human.

끝까지 몰아보기를 안할 수가 없었어요. 인물들 각각에 공감할 수 있는 부분들이 있었고 어떤 장면들을 보면서 인물들에게 맘속으로 "제발 그러지마요, 좀 더 잘 생각해봐요"하게 만드는 것도 있었어요. 하지만 그 모든 것들이 그 캐릭터들을 더 인간적으로 만들었던 것 같네요.

I saw this entire show in one sitting, and this is coming from someone who DOES NOT BINGE. It was so addictive and well done. I gotta say, the hospital bed scene was one that really stuck with me and finding out that Ali was the one who came up with it, damn!, just makes it that much better and memorable.

자리에 앉아 한번에 다 몰아봤어요. 전 평소에 몰아보기 하는 편도 아니거든요. 정말 중독적이고 잘 만든 드라마에요. 병원베드씬은 정말 빠져들게했고 에이미(엘리 웡)의 연기는 최고였어요! 그걸로 더욱 기억남게 만들었어요.

I hate to say it because I loved this show so much and the characters but it finished perfectly. I fear a second season would not hold up. It doesn’t need it, other than to fulfill our desire to have a second season, from a character stand point and evolution, one season nailed it. Tied a bow on it at the end perfectly. Great show, great acting, great script, best on tv in a very long time. ???????? ???????? ????????

드라마 너무 재밌게 봤고 완벽한 결말이였어요. 시즌2를 어떻게 기다릴 수 있으려나몰라요. 인물들의 관점과 진화에서 시즌1은 완벽했습니다. 훌륭한 각본과 연기로 오랫동안 베스트 드라마 될 것 같네요.

Netflix's Beef. This show. Oh my gosh. When Netflix first announced this show, just the summary and casting alone had me immediately interested and rooting hard for Netflix to give this show the greenlight and I was so ecstatic in days I was eagerly waiting for the premiere. Then April 6th arrived and I watched all 10 episodes in one sitting. This show not only lived up to the hype, but also subverted my expectations and still delivered. And I was so deeply invested and engrossed with each episode, and the writing, directing, production, plot, storyline, acting, soundtrack and cinematography are all phenomenal. And I actually watched the entire series again with my mom Eunic and noticed nuanced details I hadn't noticed before. That's how well made this show is. And Steven Yeun and Ali Wong give their fiercest and most passionate acting skills I've ever seen with their portrayals  of Danny and Amy. And I also loved nuanced, non stereotypical Asian American representation that's in this show, many aspects of which actually got familiar to me afterwards.

넷플릭스의 '성난사람들'은 처음에 발표되었을때 요약과 캐스팅만으로도 바로 관심가지게 되었고 드라마가 시작되는 날을 무진장 기다렸죠. 드디어 4월 6일이 되었고 앉아서 10편을 몰아봤어요. 이 드라마는 이전에 과대 광고를 한 것에 대한 걸맞은 성과를 냈을뿐만 아니라 내 기대 그 이상이였고 각 에피소드를 볼때마다 완전히 빠져들었어요. 대본, 감독, 제작, 줄거니, 스토리라인, 연기, 사운드트랙과 영화촬영법 모두 환상이였습니다. 우리 어머니와 함께 이 드라마를 모두 보았는데 이전에 잘 몰랐던 디테일도 알게 되었어요. 그만큼 잘 만들어진 드라마죠. 스티브연과 앨리 웡은 각각 대니와 에이미를 연기하며 극도로 열정적인 연기기술을 보여주었어요. 또한 전형적인 아시아계 미국인에 대한 것이 아니라 그 미묘한 차이에 대한 연기도 너무 좋았어요. 드라마 보고 나니 바로 그런 아시아계 미국인에 대해 더욱 익숙해지더라고요.

I'm watching one episode a day because of how intense various scenes are in each episode.  Steven Yeun's acting is on a level I can't even describe with words.

난 하루에 한 편만 보고있어요. 왜냐면 각 에피소드마다 너무나 강렬한 장면들이 있어서요. 스티브연은 뭐라 말 할 수 없을 정도의 수준으로 열연하고 있네요.

So many moments from both characters touched me but the crying in church scene was so relatable. Im not sure I’ve ever had a reaction like that

두 주연배우의 많은 장면들이 감동적이였는데 특히 교회에서 우는 장면은 너무나 공감되었어요. 드라마를 보며 이런 반응을 보인 것도 처음이네요.

I just finished all ten eps in one sitting, which is rare for me. But I was compelled to see how it all played out in one continuous sequence. 

전 보통 안그러는데 이 드라마는 앉아서 10편을 모두 몰아보기했어요. 하나의 연속적인 순서로 진행되는 스토리라인을 몰아보기 안할 수가 없었어요.

A very sad fact that not enough people noticed is that Danny lied to himself until the very end. He knew Paul didn’t get shot and that he left him there but due to his fear of being left alone he was in denial throughout the whole finale episode.

대니가 마지막까지 스스로에게 거짓말 한 사실을 많은 사람들이 알아차리진 못한 것 같아요. 그는 폴이 총에 맞지 않았고 그곳을 그냥 떠나버린 걸 알았어요. 하지만 혼자 버려졌다는 두려움으로 마지막 까지 그걸 부정하고 있었던 것 같아요.
