승무원이 겪은 승객의 이상한 요청사항들

영국, 미국, 스페인 여러 항공사에서 근무하는 승무원들이 승객으로부터 받은 이상한 요청사항들을 공유했습니다. 이 세상은 다양한 사람들이 사는 곳인만큼 요청사항도 가지각색이네요. 예를들어 닭고기와 소고기 요리 중 고르라고 하니 "구운 감자를 곁들인 미디엄레어스테이크를 먹고싶다"고 답한 승객도 있고 식사메뉴가 마음에 들지 않아 화내는 일등석 승객도 있으며 승무원들이 먹는 똑같은 음식을 요청하는 승객도 많다고 하네요. 보통 승무원들은 특이한 요청사항을 받으면 우선 다른 승객의 주문을 먼저 받고 대처한다고합니다.

I was once asked by a passenger if I could make sure the Captain knew there was a baby onboard so he could do a slow descent. In my naive early days of flying I tried to explain that almost every flight will have a baby on, and that air traffic control would not change descent speeds for that reason. She was not impressed and advised that a major competitor always does it - I now realise that flight attendant just nodded and smiled which I should have done. 

저도 승객한테 황당한 요청받은 적 있는데 그건 기장이 비행기가 아기가 타고 있는걸 알고 있는지 확인하고 알고 있으면 저속착륙하라는 거였어요. 승무원 한 지 얼마 안되었을땐 모든 비행기에 아기가 타고 있다고 설명했으며 항공교통관제시스템은 그런 이유로 바뀌진 않는다고 설명했죠. 애엄마는 별로 설득된 것 같지 않았고 큰 메이저 항공사들은 아기를 배려한다고 말하더군요. 이제 난 왜 베테랑 승무원들이 그런 승객에게 그저 고개를 저으며 미소만 짓는지 알아차렸어요.

내가 받은 요청중 가장 희한했던 건 벤쿠버에서 토론토가는 비행기에서 어떤 승객이 애완용 뱀을 기내용가방에 가지고 가게 해달라고 부탁받은거요. 또 어떤 승객은 생선을 가지고 갈테니 기내 부엌에서 요리해줄 수 있는 지 물어봤어요. 물론 거절해야했죠. 기내부엌에서 그렇게 하는 건 규칙에 위반될뿐아니라 불을 사용하는 건 위험하거든요 .

전 어떤 승객에게 "기내가 시끄러우니 소리좀 줄여줄래요, 잘 수가 없어요"라는 아주 다채로운 부탁을 받았답니다. 기내에선 500mph 정도의 소리의 엔진소리를 들을 수 밖에 없어요.
