(해외반응) 한국 장애인차별철폐연대 지하철 승하차 시위

지난 2021년부터 한국에선 장애인 권리 예산 등을 요구하며 전국장애인차별철폐연대가 지하철에서 시위를 해왔습니다. 출퇴근길 시민들도 큰 불편을 겪었지만 사실상 실질적인 해결방안은 마련하지 못한 채 지속되어왔는데요, 오세훈 서울시장이 다음달 2일 대화하기로 합의했다고는 합니다. 한편 서울교통공사는 전장연에 열차 지연에 따른 손해배상을 요구한 상태입니다. BBC뉴스에서는 한국의 장애인협회가 소송당한 현 상황을 보도했습니다.

Everyone should realize that sooner or later we will all be disabled in one way or another at some point in our lives...So improving the conditions in all aspects of life for these people, as well as making them a part of the conversation truly benefits us ALL.

우리 모두 어느 순간에고 장애를 입을 수 있다는 걸 알아야 합니다. 장애인 삶의 조건을 향상시키는 것과 장애인을 대화의 중요한 한 파트너로 하는 건 우리 모두에게 혜택이 되는 일이에요.

Accessibility isn't just an issue for the disabled.  It is also a concern for the elderly.  As many developed countries ages, this is going to become more important.

Honestly, it’s hard to take one side as a person who understands it’s hard to get around with a wheelchair, having a friend who is like that. but also citizens gotta go around.

솔직히 한쪽 편만 들기엔 무리가 있어요. 휠체어타고 다니는 건 정말 어려운 걸 알거든요. 그런데 또 시민들은 출퇴근해야되잖아요.

The way they picked to protest is causing terrible traffic during rush hours(it is so crowded in Seoul) making many citizens upset. That's why those protests are not welcomed. They should've chosen a different way.

시위선택방식이 러쉬아워때라 교통대란을 일으키고 있어요. (서울은 정말 혼잡하거든요) 그래서 시민들을 열받게 한거죠. 그래서 시위참가자들이 환영받지 못하고 있습니다. 다른 방식을 선태했어야했어요.

Let’s be honest. Since when people were friendly to disabled people. How many times can you bump into them while waling in the centre of Seoul. I am aware of that lots of passengers got angry but that is much less than what disabled people feel everyday when they go out of their door.

솔직히말해봅니다. 우리가 언제부터 장애인들에게 친절했습니까. 장애인들이 서울 중심에서 울부짖을때 몇번이나 그들과 마주쳐보았습니까. 많은 승객들이 열받은 건 알고있지만 장애인들이 매일매일 문밖으로 나설때마다 느끼는 감정과 비교하면 아무것도 아닙니다.
