인앤아웃 햄버거가게에서 인종차별 공격받은 한국계 미국인 커플

산라몬(San Ramon)의 한 인앤아웃(In & Out) 매장에서 틱톡 영상을 찍고 있던 한인 커플에게 인종차별 폭언∙욕설 공격을 했던 용의자가 26일 경찰에 체포됐다.

용의자는 한인 여성 아린 김(Arine Kim)씨와 그녀의 남자 친구 엘리엇 하씨가 인앤아웃에서의 먹방 영상을 찍는데 “한국인이냐? 일본인이냐?”라고 묻더니 한국인이라는 답변에 "김정은 남자친구냐", "김정은과 관계를 가졌냐" 등 막말과 욕설을 비하 발언과 함께 쏟아 냈다.

아린 김씨는 영상을 틱톡 사이트에 게재했고, 이 영상을 본 산라몬 경찰국은 은색 머스탱 차량에 탑승한 용의자의 사진을 공개하며 수사를 시작했다.

산라몬 경찰은 사건 발생 2일 후 콜로라도 덴버 출신의 용의자(Jordan Douglas Krah, 40세)를 찾아내 증오범죄 혐의로 전격 체포했다. 용의자는 증오범죄 혐의 2건으로 마티네즈 구치소에 수감됐다.

경찰은 어떻게 용의자 위치를 알아내 체포했는지 구체적으로 밝히지 않았지만, 다른 곳에서 용의자가 비슷한 범행을 저질렀다는 신고를 받은 것으로 알려졌다.

아린 김씨는 용의자가 다른 유색인종에게도 언어폭력을 사용하며 위헙적인 행동이 있었다고 말했다. 아린 김씨와 엘리엇 하씨는 인앤아웃 직원에게 용의자가 매장 외부에 있는지 확인을 요청한 후 귀가했다.

The man harassing the couple was arrested . Rightfully so if he was indeed waiting for them outside and making threats. The police said a man with his description was doing similar actions against other people too.

If that was me, I would have told the guy over and over - 'Please repeat that, I couldn't hear you. Please repeat it louder, I still can't hear you, louder please.' This tends to work really well in the harasser making a fool out of themselves.
