In Maryland they are Correctional officers. Not sheriffs. They are correctional sherriff's in some smaller county's in Maryland but they don't have police powers outside of the jail.

메릴랜드에선 보안관이 없고 교도관만 있어요. 그들은 감옥 밖에선 경찰파워를 가지고 있지는 않죠.

그런데 상상해봐요. 저지르지도 않은 범죄로 기소되어 가장 경비가 삼엄한 곳에 수감되는 걸. 그게 가장 끔찍하네요.

Here in Germany Isolation/separation in jail Is just allowed for 4 weeks cause it's kind of torture and they do that shit for years??? Thats CRAZY!

여기 독일ㅅ에선 독방엔 4주까지만 보내게 되어있어요. 그건 고민이잖아요. 그런데 미국에선 몇년동안이나 한다고요? 미쳤네요!

I am so thankful to God for the little things I have. Freedom is a big thing. I used to be a prison officer for almost 4 years. 

내가 가진 것에 대해 신께 감사해요. 자유는 정말 소중한거에요. 난 4년정도 교도관으로 일한 적이 있어요.

I was in prison for a year, but it was nothing like this. I am a female and the female unit was kind of tough, but compared to this---it was a freaking day camp.

나도 1년간 수감된 적이 있지만 이렇진 않았어요. 전 여성이고 여자감옥도 험하긴 하지만 여기랑 비교하면... 이건 완전 끔찍한 캠프같네요.

정말 심하게 고립되어있고 분리되어있네요. 이건 고문이에요.

I felt bad for that one guy that said his parents didn't want him and his brother and that they were shipped off to foster homes. That broke me 

저기 나온 사람중에 부모가 그와 동생을 키우고 싶어 하지 않아해서 입양가정에 보낸다는 말 듣고 정말 마음이 아팠어요.

I feel this is necessary because if we just let them do whatever they want in prison without punishments like segregation, they will continue the same behavior( stabbing, drugs, etc).

한편으론 저런 곳이 필요하다는 생각도 드는 것이 늘 저들이 마음데로 하고 싶은데로 강도, 마약 등을 하게 내버려둘 순 없잖아요. 저런 처벌도 필요하다고요.

I understand that criminals must pay for their crimes, but that is insane, pure torture.

범죄자들은 제값을 치뤄야 하지만 저건 미친짓같아요. 온전한 고문이네요.
