I know at least the Japanese citizens are really upset at Kishida about how powerless he looks. His speech was received really poorly. And when he tried to call the unsc to convene, Russia and China just said "no".

So now Japan has shown literally no response for this. So they need to show something, and the US needs to show both Korean and Japanese citizens that we are worth keeping around. It's just all bad right now.

적어도 일본 시민들은 지금 기시다총리가 무능해서 무지 열받아 있을 겁니다. 그의 연설은 진짜 형편없이 들렸어요. 기시다총리가 유엔안전보상이사회 소집요구했을때 러시아와 중국은 "안돼"라고 했죠. 지금 일본은 이번 북한도발에 대해 말 그대로 아무 반응이 없어요. 일본은 뭔가 보여줄 필요가 있고 미국도 한국, 일본 시민들에게 우리가 함께 있다는 걸 보여줘야하죠. 지금 모든 상황이 나쁘네요.

Did we really have to though? I think the military capabilities of the US are quite well documented. I really feel like it would be better if it went something like this:

US: That's nice, Kimmy. turns to SK So as I was saying, you really need to calm the K-Pop down. 7 vocalists is just too many...
