넷플릭스 '오징어 게임'의 배우 이정재씨가 미국 방송계 최고 권위의 이메상 남우주연상을 받았습니다!!!! 한국 배우는 물론 아시아배우가 에미상 주연상을 받은 건 이번이 처음이라고 합니다. 

게다가 '오징어 게임'의 황동혁 감독은 드라마 시리즈 감독상을 수상는데 이 역시 한국은 물론 비영어권 드라마 최초네요. 

한국 네티즌 중에서 오징어 게임이 베스트 드라마 시리즈 상을 받지 못한 것에 대해선 아쉬워 하는 목소리도 있었습니다.

The interviewer did so well. I love how he acknowledged Hwang Dong-hyuk and Lee Jung-jae's success in Korea, their effort to break the language barrier, and their huge influence in the US.

BTW, the interviewer did a great job! He was respectful though he didn't seem to quite understand that Korean content is global now and that these actors/directors are famous around the world.

Love Squid Game. Love Lee Jung Jae.  2o years ago been watching him already in  Korean drama Air City. (first dramas that flopped)..I knew then there was something special about this actor and I was right

I don’t understand “I hope there will be more non-English Emmy awards in the future.” This is a US TV award show. Americans largely speak English and Spanish. Americans don’t commonly watch foreign shows and read subtitles. South Korea has a Korean audience to enjoy Korean shows. Why put American Emmy judges on a high pedestal? It seems like toadyism to me. The US audience and Emmy judges don’t have to watch all the world TV shows and pick the best. Its an American TV award contest. If a foreign show breaks through, good for them. But every country has great talent and creative arts. The US doesn’t have to recognize them for them to be great. Don’t wish and pray for American acceptance. That’s lame. Really lame.

이해 안되는 언급은 "향후 에이미 상에서 비 영어권 작품이 더 많이 나왔으면 좋겠습니다" 라는 말입니다. 이건 미국 티비 어워드 쇼 입니다. 미국인들은 대부분 영어나 스페인어를 씁니다. 미국인들이 외국 작품을 그리 많이 보진 않아요. 자막을 잘 읽는 것도 아니고요. 한국은 한국작품을 볼 한국인들이 있잖아요. 왜 미국 에이미상이 그걸 높게 받아줘야 합니까? 마치 사대주의처럼 늒?ㅕ지네요. 미국 시청자들과 에이미상 심사위원들은 세상의 모든 작품을 보고 고를 필요가 없어요. 이번 미국 티비 드라마 수상 대회에요. 외국작품이 인기가 많으면 그들에게 좋은거죠. 하지만 모든 나라가 자기들만의 재능과 창조적인 예술이 있어요. 미국이 그것을 훌륭하다고 꼭 인정해줄 필요는 없단 말입니다. 미국이 수용해줄거라 바라지 말아요. 정말 설득력 없어요.
