29일 미국 월스트리트저널은 미군 내부에서 무기 재고에 대한 우려가 확산되고 있다고 전했습니다. 러시아의 우크라이나 침공에 대한 미국의 지원에 빨간 불이 켜진것이지요. 

미국은 우크라이나 전쟁 발생 이후 8월 24일까지 모두 80만6000발의 155㎜ 포탄을 우크라이나에 지원했다고 합니다. 

미국의 재원이 부족한 상황은 아니지만 방산업체에 무기를 주문한다고 해서 곧바로 재고를 채울 수 있는 것이 아니라는 게 문제라합니다. 그런데 재고는 줄어드는데 미 국방부가 방산업체들과의 계약에 적극적이지 않다 하네요. 내부적으로 의사소통이 원활하지 않다는 비판도 있고요. 

제임스 테이클레트 록히드마틴 최고경영자(CEO)는 지난달 “방산업계가 생산을 늘리기를 바란다면 국방부가 다른 모습을 보여야 한다”고 지적했다 합니다.

only difference with poland is they don’t have to focus on having much of a navy so spending can be focused on other things

Poland should have went with the Korean version of the HIMARS: the K239 Chunmoo. South Korea has proven they can mass produce quality weapons at a lower cost with the K2 tank and K9 artillery
