지금 한국에서 한참 논란이 되고 있는 건이죠. 주 최대 69시간 근로입니다.
지난 6일 고용노동부가 입법 예고한 '근로시간 제도 개편방안'에 대해 엠제크세대를 중심으로 비난여론을 들끓자 다독이는 분위기로 돌아섰습니다. 윤석열대통령은 연장근로를 하더라도 주 60시간 이상은 무리라며 보완을 지시했다고 합니다.

They really don’t, because corporations aren’t people. They don’t see anyone as anything except profits and losses

South Korea has a 40 hour week like most Western countries. In 2018 a law was passed to allow a maximum of 52 hours a week. They now wanted to increase it to 69. A reason for that is that there is a high poverty rate among the elderly in South Korea.
한국은 다른 서방국가들처럼 주 40시간 근무하고 있어요. 2018년에 주 최대 52시간까지만 허용하는 법안이 통과되었고요. 그런데 그걸 지금 69시간까지로 늘리려 하는거죠. 이유는 한국 노인층 빈곤율이 높거든요.

Here is the thing about SKs work culture: Its like everything about a company is catered towards the fragile ego of the owner/ceo/higher-up, etc.
한국의 직장문화는 회사에 대한 모든 것이 고용주나 CEO의 부서질것 같은 자부심을 향해 있어요.

I was in a job interview with a South Korean corporation in Norway where all the execs and middle managers were Korean.
They explained they had to hire a Norwegian HR manager so that they could understand Norwegian job culture.
It was very clear they had serious misgivings about our job culture and this was the fourth time they had listed this job as they had fired the 3 last hires in less than a year.
Safe to say I didn't take the job.
노르웨이에 있는 한국회사에 인터뷰하러 간 적 있어요. 그때 모든 중역과 높은 사람들은 한국인들이였죠. 그들은 노르웨이 인사담당자를 뽑으려 한다고 그래야 노르웨이 직장문화를 이해할 수 있으니까요. 그때 한국인들은 노르웨이 직장문화에 대해 심각한 불안감이 보였고 1년동안 같은 자리에 있는 사람을 3명이나 해고했더라고요. 내가 그때 잡오퍼를 받아들이지 않아 다행이네요.

I worked with a lady who left SK about ten years ago. She worked in the corporate environment, at a huge well known company. She left SK because the only way to get a promotion as a woman was to submit to her boss's advances. She said there's no HR over there, no one to talk to about workplace sexual harassment.
10년전에 한국을 떠난 여성과 일한 적이 있는데 그녀는 대기업 문화를 잘 알고 있었어요. 한국을 떠난 이유가 여성으로서 승진 기회를 얻기 위해서였대요. 제대로된 인사부서가 없었고 아무도 직장내 성희롱에 대해 말하지 않는 분위기였다고

이런 걸 보면 왜 한국이 한국문화 드라마 등을 수출하는데 보조해주는 지 알것 같네요. 일본처럼. 여행하긴 좋으나 살기엔 지옥같은 나라

I worked for a Korean company when I lived in Berlin for a while. The insane (and INCREDIBLY ILLEGAL) things they did to the Korean employees (and attempted to do to me) were shocking to witness.
독일 베를린에 살때 잠시동안 한국회사에서 일한 적 있는데 정말 불법적이고 미친 것 같은 것들을 한국인 노동자들에게 시켰어요. 나한테도 그러려고 했고요. 완전 놀랐어요.

When I was in my twenties, I works 72 hrs a week at two jobs. Ended up wrecking my car and spending weeks in hospital. I learned that we need to work to live, not live to work.
20대때 매주 72시간씩 투잡 뛰었어요. 그 결과 차는 부서지고 병원에서 몇주를 보내게되었어요. 그때 깨달은 건 살기위해 일하는 거니 일하기 위해 사는 건 아니다.
