헬스장뿐만 아니라 여러 사용 공간에 있어 여성전용은 계속 늘어나고 있습니다.

It is the culture. South Korea has a very backwards culture when it comes to gender. Women is to submit to men and raise kids etc. Growing up in that culture you'd think sexual assault is fine because woman is inferior and exist to satisfy your needs.

문화에 기인한 것 같아요. 한국은 성에 있어서 후진적인 문화를 가지고 있어요. 여성은 남성에게 복종해야 하고 아이들을 키워야 하고. 그런 문화에서 자라면 성폭력은 여성이 열등하기 때문에 괜찮다고 생각할 수 있어요.

The root problem is attitudes towards women not the action itself. Punishment only deters so far, and it's incredibly hard to get undeniable proof and prosecute (especially if a shitty view of women is society-wide and includes law enforcement). Changing attitudes usually takes a long time.

행동 그자체가 아니라 여성을 향한 뿌리깊은 행동의 문제가 있어요. 처벌은 지금까지 잠깐 그만두게만 하는 거고요. 기소하거나 고소할 증거를 찾는 것이 정말 어려워요. (특히 여성을 향한 비뚤어진 관점이 사회에 널리 퍼져있고 법처벌도 약하고요) 태도를 바꾸는 건 보통 오래걸리죠.

They don't have women's only gyms in your country? Separation by choice and segregation by policy are two very different things and it's ignorant to suggest otherwise.

다른 나라에는 여성전용 헬스장 없나요? 선택에 의한 분리와 정책에 의한 구분은 아주 다른 겁니다. 다르게 제안하는 건 무지한 것이고요.

I actually think this is a pretty cool idea. Woman’s-only and mens-only gyms. Although I’m not against unisex gyms either. It’s just an interesting concept and I like it more for the fact that it can encourage bonding and friendships

난 괜찮은 생각인 것 같아요. 여성전용과 남성전용 헬스장이요. 공용헬스장에 반대하는 건 아니지만 흥미로운 컨셉이에요. 우정과 유대관계를 북돋을 수 있는 사실이 맘에 드네요.

I know this is a stupid question, but how hard is it to keep your hands to yourself? I've never once had any issue. Asked people out some say yes some say no. How hard is it to stop at no?

바보같은 질문인 건 알지만 다른 사람에게 손대지 않는 것이 그렇게 어렵나요? 난 한번도 문제 생긴적이 없거든요. 사람들에게 물어보면 누군가는 그렇다고 하고 또 누구는 아니라고 하네요. 멈추기가 그렇게 어려운가요?

Apparently it's a hot take but, no. Separating a group of people based on traits like: gender, race , ethnicity and whatnot is not ok. This will only continue to worsen over time and in the end create ghetto situations and taboos. It's better to remove the problem from its roots and literally take decisive action against any harasser accused with undeniable proof.

명백히 객관적이지 못한 논평이지만 사람들을 성, 인종, 윤리 등으로 구분해서 나누는 건 옳지 않아요. 시간이 지날 수록 악화만 되는 것이고 결국엔 슬럼화와 금기사항만 만들어낼 뿐이죠. 뿌리에 있는 문제를 제거하는 편이 나아요. 말 그대로 부정할 수 없는 증거로 기소된 성폭력자에 대한 단호한 행동을 취해햐되요.

Having seperate male/female bathrooms has created ghetto situations and taboos and has worsened since the Victorian era when seperate gendered bathrooms first came about due to advances in plumbing.

빅토리아 시대부터 남녀화장실을 구분해놓은 것이 금기사항을 만들어놓았고 상황이 악화되었다. 남녀화장실 구분은 사실 처음에 배관기술이 발전되어 생겨난 것이다.

As a woman, I’m with this guy. Separated bathrooms actually HAS caused issues. Separating men and women is ultimately bad for women. We do, in fact, need to address men’s behavior rather than looking to purely stopgap measures as the final solution. I understand it might be necessary temporarily. But in the end it only exacerbates the issue.

(윗댓글에) 여자로서 저 의견이 맞는 것 같아요. 화장실을 구분해놓으면서 문제들이 생겨났어요. 남자여자를 구분하는 건 결국엔 여자들에게 안좋아요. 사실 우리는 마지막 해결책으로서 미봉책만을 바라보고 있는 것보단 남자들의 행동을 고심하는 것이 필요합니다. 일시적으로 대책이 필요하다는 건 이해하지만 결국엔 문제를 악화시키는 거죠.
