포클랜드(영국) VS 말비나스(아르헨티나) 

올해 포클랜드 전쟁 40주년이라고 하네요. 그 당시 패자였던 아르헨티나가 이번에도 다시 영국의 포클랜드 제도 영유권을 부정하며 "불법 점령을 그만두라"고 촉구했습니다. 

26일 아르헨티나 언론에 따르면 알베르토 페르난데스 대통령은 연설에서 "우리는 평화를 최우선으로 해야 하지만 국방력도 강화해야 한다"고 강조했습니다. 

한편, 아르헨티나는 해당 섬을 '말비나스'라고 부르고 영국은 '포클랜드'라고 칭합니다. 

세계적인 석유기업 '쉘'이 말비나스/포클랜드 섬 지역 주변에 쿠웨이트가 가지고 있는 석유매장량 정도의 석유가 있을 가능성이 있다고 언급한 이후로 아르헨티나의 소유주장이 더욱 강해지고 있습니다. 

포클랜드 제도로 전세계에 좀 더 알려져있는 이 섬은 사실 아르헨티나땅과 가까이 있는 섬입니다. 그런데 최초의 발견자는 영국이였죠. 아르헨티나쪽에선 16세기 포르투갈과 스페인 사람으로 구성된 마젤란 탐험대가 최초로 발견했다고 주장합니다.

As an argentinian born in the late 90's  sometimes I have a patriotic approach for  the sovereignty claim over the islands. But I have to say that the way our people get the islands problem, as if there were no local people involved or as if they were mere brainwashed objects that don't have a word on this, makes me feel really bad. War was a serious mistake back then.

90년대 태어난 아르헨티나 인으로서 때때로 그 섬에 대한 소유권 접근을 애국적으로 합니다. 하지만 사실 아르헨티나 국민들이 그 섬 문제를 대하는 방식은 섬 거주민이 없는 것처럼 해요. 혹은 세뇌당한 방식으로요. 그 당시 전쟁은 정말 심각한 실수였어요.
