런던이야기입니다. 런던의 워터루 다리에서 기후관련 데모를 하던 시위자가 경찰에 들려 끄려가면서도 끝까지 미디어와의 인터뷰를 합니다. 몇일 전 10월 2일에 있었던 일인데요. 

"우리 아들을 위해서 하는 일"이라고 말하며 "정부의 환경관련 아무대책 없는 태도가 우리 모두에게 사형선고를 내리는 것"이라고 했습니다. 

시위한 이유는 영국의 새 행정부가 국내 에너지 공급량을 늘리기 위해 북해 석유/가스 탐사를 무더기로 허가할 방침이라서 그랬다고 하네요. 

참고로 영국은 2018년 북해에서 하루 평균 170만 배럴의 석유와 가스를 채굴했고 마지막 허가는 2020년 이뤄졌다고 합니다. 하지만 탐사부터 생산까지 5년~10년까지 걸린다는 점을 고려하면 이번 조치가 당장의 에너지난은 해결하기 어렵다는 분석입니다. 그러니 이번과 같은 환경단체의 반대로 거센상황이고요.

Shes not wrong. Everybody acts like people like her are crazy. EVERYBODY ELSE IS CRAZY NOT TO BE WORRIED. Give it a couple years, Everybody will be singing the blues when food shortages really hit.

Not just shortages, but more frequent extreme weather, too. Typhoons, flooding, draughts, f[o]rest fires...it just keeps getting worse and worse.

부족현상 뿐만 아니라 더 자주 이상한 날씨도 겪게 될 거에요. 태풍, 홍수, 가뭄, 산불 등이요. 점점 더 악화되어 가고 있잖아요.
